About Us

Reenie McMains

I've been creating and showing my nature abstract works on the west coast of the United States since 2014. I fully developed my creative passion into a successful art business beginning in 2019, continuing to seek opportunities to grow as both an artist and an entrepreneur.

I find inspiration in botanical patterns and textures, the play of light and shadow in forest, meadow, and deep sea environments, and the sheer exhilaration of exploring wilderness.

My go-to medium is ink in many forms, but I adore the vibrancy and flow of alcohol inks. I work primarily on primed aluminum canvases to depict the rich and varied tones and textures found in nature.

Ink is like an old friend - we understand each other! Because I trust my inks, I can pour color, blow it around with an airbrush, and let the painting show me what it wants to be. Then I add the fine details that bring it to life.

In June of 2022, I traded full-time classroom teaching for an artistic adventure roaming the wilderness of Alaska and the rain forests of Panama. I'll be dividing my time between two distinctly different habitats in search of more botanical patterns to inform my art, delight my senses, and refresh my existence!

I'll be joined on this joyful path by my loving, supportive husband and two very enthusiastic dogs.
